Our client is the Xinghai International residential complex in Yunnan, China. As a large-scale residential community, the project focused on the comprehensive facade design of its residential buildings, utilizing approximately 180,000 square meters of our flexible stone cultured brick series. The goal was to elevate the visual appeal of the building cluster using wall materials that offer natural textures and architectural depth, while establishing a unified, harmonious design language across the structures to create a community environment that balances modernity with high-quality living.

Given the large number of buildings and the extensive facade area (approx. 180,000 m²), key considerations during material selection included weight, transportation, handling, and on-site installation efficiency. While traditional cultured brick offers natural textures and rich architectural character, its weight and the associated logistics and installation demands create significant challenges for a project of this scale.

Consequently, the project team sought a lightweight wall material capable of replicating the aesthetic of traditional brickwork while meeting the practical construction requirements of a large residential community.

After a comprehensive comparison of various exterior wall materials, the project team selected our flexible stone cultured brick series. The chosen product features dimensions of 60×220×2.5mm; its intricate brick grain and natural color variations create a visually layered brickwork effect on the building facades. While retaining the natural texture of traditional brick, the product utilizes a lightweight, flexible structure—offering benefits such as low weight, high flexibility, ease of cutting, and simple installation—making it ideally suited for large-scale facade applications.

For the Xinghai International project, the flexible stone cultured brick series was applied primarily to residential facades, covering a total area of ​​approximately 180,000 m². The 60×220mm brick format allows for a refined grid pattern; when combined with various layout arrangements and facade designs, it adds rich visual depth to the expansive exterior walls. 

The slim 2.5mm profile eliminates the bulkiness associated with traditional brick materials while facilitating transportation, handling, and on-site cutting, thereby supporting the continuous construction workflow required for a large residential community. During actual construction, the flexible stone veneer tiles could be easily cut and adjusted to fit the dimensions and structure of the building facades, while their convenient installation method enhanced on-site efficiency. For a residential project like Xinghai International, which features extensive facade areas, the lightweight nature of the material reduced the burden of handling and installation, while also minimizing the logistical inconveniences associated with transporting and processing traditional brick materials. The material's flexibility allowed it to adapt seamlessly to various wall details, offering a versatile solution for facade construction.

Upon completion, the facades of the Xinghai International residential complex presented a natural, warm, and architecturally rich visual appeal. The intricate brick texture added depth and dimension to the elevations, preventing the large-scale residential buildings from appearing monotonous, while the uniform material finish created a cohesive architectural style across the community. The natural aesthetic enhanced the buildings' welcoming feel, imbuing the community environment with a sense of quality and a pleasant residential atmosphere.

With specifications of 60×220×2.5 mm, a realistic natural brick texture, a lightweight and flexible structure, and ease of installation, the flexible stone veneer series provided an ideal solution for the 180,000-square-meter facade project at Xinghai International, balancing architectural aesthetics with practical construction requirements. This project also demonstrates the potential of flexible stone veneer for use on the facades of residential complexes, villas, commercial buildings, hotels, educational facilities, and other large-scale public structures, offering a lightweight and versatile decorative option for modern architecture.
