Flexible Stone Cultural Brick Series | Classic Brick Texture Defining the Facades of Hefei Hechai Cultural and Creative Park
Our client is the Hechai Cultural and Creative Park in Hefei, Anhui Province. As a cultural and creative hub with a distinct urban identity, this project focused on the comprehensive facade design of the park's buildings, utilizing approximately 40,000 square meters of our flexible stone cultural brick series. The project aimed to enhance the visual impact of the building facades through wall materials that offer natural textures and an architectural-cultural aesthetic; simultaneously, by integrating these materials with the park's unique spatial characteristics, the design sought to cultivate a distinctive architectural style and cultural atmosphere throughout the environment.
Given that the exterior wall decoration area for this project spans approximately 40,000 square meters, factors such as material weight, transportation, handling, and on-site installation efficiency were critical considerations during the material selection process. While traditional cultured brick offers classic brickwork textures and a natural architectural feel, its significant weight—along with the logistical challenges of transport, handling, and installation—can complicate project execution, especially for large-scale cultural and creative park developments. Consequently, the project team sought a lightweight wall cladding material that could replicate the visual appeal of traditional brickwork while meeting the practical demands of large-scale exterior wall construction.
After a comprehensive comparison of various exterior cladding materials, the project team selected our "Soft Stone" cultured brick series. The specific product used measures 220 × 60 × 2.8 mm; it creates an authentic brickwork appearance through intricate, natural textures and rich surface detailing. While capturing the natural aesthetic of traditional brick, the product features a lightweight, flexible structure—offering benefits such as low weight, high flexibility, ease of cutting, and simple installation—making it ideally suited for the large-scale exterior wall applications typical of cultural and creative parks.
For the Hechai Cultural and Creative Park project, the flexible stone "cultural brick" series was primarily applied to the exterior walls, covering a total area of approximately 40,000 square meters. The 220×60mm brick format creates a refined, rhythmic wall pattern; when combined with varied installation layouts and the architectural façade design, it adds rich visual depth to the expansive exterior surfaces. The slim 2.8mm profile eliminates the bulkiness associated with traditional brickwork while facilitating transport, handling, and on-site cutting—features that effectively support the continuous construction demands of a large-scale cultural and creative park project.
During actual construction, the flexible stone bricks could be easily cut and adjusted to accommodate specific wall dimensions, corners, and structural details, with an installation process that boosted on-site efficiency. For a project like Hechai Cultural and Creative Park, which involves extensive exterior wall surfacing, the lightweight nature of the material significantly eased the burden of transport, handling, and installation, while minimizing the inconveniences typically associated with processing and laying traditional brick. Furthermore, the material's flexibility allowed it to adapt seamlessly to diverse wall details, offering a convenient decorative solution for the park's exterior façades.
Upon completion, the building facades of the Hechai Cultural and Creative Park exude a natural, rustic charm steeped in cultural character. The intricate texture of the flexible stone "cultural bricks" adds depth and visual layering to the facades, allowing the park's architecture to maintain a cohesive look while showcasing distinct stylistic features. The natural brick texture harmonizes with the park's atmosphere, creating a visual experience that blends architectural heritage with modern design, thereby enhancing the overall cultural expression of the space.
With specifications of 220×60×2.8 mm, a realistic natural brick texture, a lightweight and flexible structure, and ease of installation, the flexible stone cultural brick series offered an ideal solution for the 40,000-square-meter facade project at the Hechai Cultural and Creative Park, balancing aesthetic appeal with practical construction requirements. The project demonstrates the versatility of this material for facades across various settings—including cultural parks, commercial districts, residential complexes, villas, hotels, and public buildings—providing a lightweight, flexible, and culturally expressive option for modern architectural design.
