This interior renovation project for a boutique hotel is located in Prague, Europe. The hotel owner aimed to create a hospitality space blending oldworld castle heritage with modern luxury aesthetics. By incorporating the solid, time honoured texture of ancient castle stone walls into public area design, the frontdesk reception zone and guest lounge deliver distinctive spatial highlights, building a composed, premium atmosphere full of historical charm.

The design team sought to recreate the timeless beauty of authentic European castle stonework, while addressing key drawbacks of natural castle stone for interior publicspace applications: excessive weight imposing strict load bearing requirements on walls; cumbersome handling and complicated onsite processing for large raw stone blocks; high procurement costs, plus common indoor environment issues such as dust accumulation, moisture penetration and efflorescence. Therefore, PU Castle Stone was selected as the core wall cladding material for the hotel’s front desk feature wall and lounge area walls.

Leveraging high precision moulding and texture replication craftsmanship, PU Castle Stone faithfully reproduces the uneven block shaped structure, rugged heavy surface texture and weathered patina of ancient castle rock. Naturally transitioning shades of dark grey stone deliver strong threedimensional depth, perfectly recreating the vintage charm of old European stone masonry. Compared with natural castle stone, PU Castle Stone preserves the authentic visual character of raw stone with lightweight properties, offering an efficient and convenient wall finishing solution for hotel public area renovations.

PU Castle Stone is extensively applied across the hotel’s full size front desk backdrop, corridor walls and guest lounge feature walls.
